For Kids

  1. What are the common challenges children face in developing speech and language skills?
  2. How can an interactive toy make language learning engaging and effective?
  3. What kind of responses or interactions would keep children engaged for longer periods?
  4. What are the age-appropriate behaviors and interests we need to consider in the design?
  5. How do children currently interact with toys, and what makes them lose interest?

Research Insights

For Kids

Lack of Engagement with Traditional Tools:

Children often find traditional educational tools uninteresting, leading to a lack of sustained engagement. "I get bored of toys after playing with them a few times."

      Need for Interaction:

Interactive and responsive toys captured children’s attention better, as they created a sense of companionship and fun. "I like toys that talk back to me!"

        Desire for Personalization:

Children responded more positively to toys that felt tailored to them, such as recognizing their name or favorite topics.

        For Parents

          Difficulty Tracking Development:

Many parents lacked tools to monitor their child’s speech progress effectively. They relied on observation, which often felt inadequate. "I wish I could see how my child is progressing without guessing."

            Frustration with Limited Insights:

Parents expressed a strong desire for actionable insights into their child’s interests, frequently asked questions, and language usage. "I’d love to know what my child is curious about and what they’re learning."

              Privacy Concerns:

While parents valued the idea of tracking, they were concerned about data security and the use of their child’s personal information.

              Empathy Map

focusing on children and parents as the primary users:

              empathy map

An empathy map is a shared visual tool that summarizes our understanding of a specific user group. It combines research findings to help us grasp how individuals make decisions and act.
